This article is called Suburbs vs. downtown? Why transportation costs matter when buying a home. It was posted and appeared on the CTV News website. It was published on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. This article discusses about many people who would rather live in the suburbs than downtown due to larger sizes of houses and affordable property prices. But commuting costs changes everything. According to the study done with the RBC, homebuyers in the GTA would rather live in walkable areas that are short distances to transit stations, work or places they need to go to. It is way cheaper than spending so much money on transportation costs commuting from the suburbs to the city and vice versa.
